How to bath your Mini Pig
Bathing a Mini Pig can be a difficult task. Although most pigs like to wallow in water during extreme heat, often times they are not a fan of having a bath. I have see many different ways of bathing a Mini Pig throughout the years. Some people like to fill the tub with water, up to the pigs belly, while some people prefer to use the garden hose outside. The idea behind successfully bathing your Mini Pig is to make it a positive experience. Pigs are naturally a "flight" animal. Therefore being placed in a bathtub and having water poured on them may be frighting for them.
In the video I have demonstrated my technique when it comes to bathing a Mini Pig. The piglet in the video has never had a bath prior to this video. You can see through I concentrate on making this first time experience a positive one. Follow the link below for more tips on bathing Mini Pet Pigs http://www.minipiginfo.com/bathing-mini-pigs.html |
Skin care for your Mini Pet Pig is extremely important to their overall health. It is important to remember pigs suffer from dry skin. Excessive bathing will enhance dry skin. It is also important to remember to use a high quality PET shampoo. Oatmeal or Aloe based shampoo are great choices as they work to add nutrients and moisture back into the skin.
The use of hypoallergenic baby wipes help to keep your piggy clean in between bathing. Baby wipes also work great for cleaning around their face and in their ears. It is important to remember to never use Q-Tips or solutions in their ears.
After your pigs bath it is a good idea to apply cream to help prevent their skin from drying out. Keep in mind to only use a PET safe cream to prevent any rashes or irritations.
