Hoof Care for your Mini Pig

Follow the link below for more information on hoof care for your Mini Pet Pig!
http://www.minipiginfo.com/mini-pig-hoof-care.html
Hoof care is a large part of the overall health care for your Mini Pet Pig.

To ensure great hoof care follow these four simple steps.

1. When you first bring your Mini Pig home make sure to touch their hooves as often as you can. This will help your pig to feel comfortable with you touching their hooves. I find the best time to do this is when your pig is lying down and resting. Make this a positive experience, as pigs often do not like their feet touched.

2. Once your pig is comfortable with you touching their hooves this allows you to inspect their hooves daily. Throughout these inspections you want to look for any cracks, chips or bruising.

3. Apply oils such as coconut oil or Hoof Flex weekly to help prevent cracks. These oils will help to keep your Mini Pigs hooves strong and in good condition.

4. Keeping your Mini Pig's hooves trimmed will help to prevent chips and uneasy movement due to overgrowth of the hoof. If you are not comfortable trimming your Mini  Pigs hooves, contact your veterinarian.
